sketchup pt1

I was told that the best option for me is made a major project in software such as Sketchup. I had never done 3D models in any digital program so I was a little scared. I was watching tutorials to get some basic information about how I should use it.  Thereafter, I  start working with Sketchup Online Free version. I created some sharps by using Arc tool because I did not know that there is Circle tool (if you press C on the keyboard it turns on itself). Ten I use Push/Pull tool to create solids.

I checked only a few options as I discover that in Sketchup Free only a few tools are available and it will be better if I download Trial Pro Version which is free by 30 days.

After downloading, I had the opportunity to check other tools about which I learned from video tutorials.
Firstly, I wanted to create a cone. On the start, it is needed to create a circle by tool (NOT Arc tool haha), next use Push/Pull (P) to make a solid. After that, it is needed to chose a Move tool (M) and click on the top edge and move it to the middle.

Furthermore, I tried to make a ball. I had to draw circle (press C) and add next circle in middle first one but at the angle 90 degrees.  Then I clicked on Tool menu and choose function called Follow me. I pressed on edges both of circles and the ball showed up!
In addition, in his way, it is possible to make a cone to.

I found Sketchup as not so hard as I was expected. I know the lots of architectural students use it, so I want to learn it even deeper. The navigation is really excellent and easy is to find something. and before clicked on tool, the hint on how to use it is showing up.  It is very hopeful!
In the next post, I am going to talk about how I used this software in my major project!

  1. Good, clear post on your experimentation with Sketchup. I hope to see the same level of technical tools language and commentary on your process posts for your design.
